Z. Kokot et J. Pawlaczyk, DETERMINATION OF ALUMINUM IN DIALYSATES AND HUMAN SERUM BY FLOW-INJECTION ANALYSIS AND LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH FLUOROMETRIC DETECTION, Chemia Analityczna, 43(2), 1998, pp. 215-224
A flow injection analysis and ion chromatography - fluorimetric method
is described for the determination of aluminum in dialysates and body
fluids, based on its complex ation with 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic
acid (HQS) in the presence of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTA
B). In the flow injection analysis the fluorimetric reagent consisted
of HQS (0.003 mol l(-1)) and CTAB (0.004 mol l(-1)) in acetate buffer
pH = 5.15, at a flow rate 0.5 ml min(-1). Ion chromatography was perfo
rmed using Dionex CG2 cation exchange guard column and potassium sulfa
te (0.1 mol l(-1), pH = 3.0) as a mobile phase. Serum protein separati
on was achieved using Superdex 200 HR 10/30 column and phosphate buffe
r as an eluent. There was a good agreement between the values obtained
by this method and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
