Jm. Lu et al., MICROWAVE-RADIATION COPOLYMERIZATION IN SOLID-STATE OF MALEIC-ANHYDRIDE AND ALLYLTHIOUREA, Journal of applied polymer science, 68(10), 1998, pp. 1563-1566
Microwave radiation copolymerization of maleic anhydride and allylthio
urea was studied in solid state. Composition of the monomer feed and t
he power and time of microwave radiation on conversion and intrinsic v
iscosity were discussed. Reactivity ratios for maleic anhydride and al
lylthiourea were also determined. Values of r(1) and r(2) were 0.875 a
nd 0.650 for maleic anhydride and allylthiourea, respectively. The cop
olymer can be used as soluble macromolecular complexing agents for met
al ions. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
