Dissociation of Br(CF2)(4)COI molecules resulting from infrared multip
le-photon excitation (IR-MPE) by the second (via C=O stretch) and the
first (via skeleton vibrations) harmonics of TEA CO2 laser was studied
. It was found that in the two cases of IR-MPE, dissociation occurs vi
a two distinct channels with the formation of C2F4 and Br(CF2)(4)I mol
ecules as final products. At the same time, the relative ratio of thes
e final products was found to depend on the channel of molecular excit
