Abstract
Dimeric ortho-phenyleneindium bromide 1 shows a higher affinity for 1, 2-diazines than for 1,3- and 1,4-diazines; as shown by the X-ray cryst al structure analysis of the host-guest complex 3 the observed selecti vity results from subtle structural variation which can bring the indi um p orbitals to converge.
