Abstract
A combination of experiment and theory has identified both the allylti n trichlorides 3 (R-2 = Bn, H) as key intermediates in tin(rv) chlorid e-promoted reactions of allylstannanes 1 (R-2 = Bn, H) and the transit ion structures that are involved in their reactions with aldehydes.
