PROPOSED GUIDELINES FOR PRIMARY SCREENING INSTRUMENTS FOR GYNECOLOGICCYTOLOGY

These guidelines were approved by the governing boards of the followin g six societies represented in the Intersociety. Working Group for Cyt ology Technologies: American Society for Cytotechnology (ASCT), Americ an Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), American Society of Cytopa thology (ASC), College of American Pathologists (CAP), International A cademy of Cytology (IAC), and Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology (P SC). The proposed guidelines as written reflect the current status of technologies in early 1997. These guidelines may evolve over time as n ewer technologies are developed. (C) 1998 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
