Liposomes with incorporated magnetite (Fe3O4) particles of diameter si
milar to 10 nm (magnetoliposomes) were studied from the point of view
of their applications as carriers in the magnetic separations. The mag
netite particles were prepared by coprecipitation of FeCl2 in the pres
ence of an access of ammonia and then incorporated into the lipid bila
yers of formed liposomes. The influence of magnetic field on their sep
aration was studied spectrophotometrically. As has been shown, magneto
liposomes represent a simple and cheap alternative to other commonly u
sed but much more expensive commercial carriers.
