Abstract
Comparisons an presented of integrated precipitable water vapour (IPWV ) measurements obtained from GPS observations and radiosonde profiles. Mapping of zenith wet delay to IPWV has been improved by the calculat ion of new linear fit correlation coefficients relating surface temper ature to the mean atmospheric medium temperature of water vapour for s ites in the UK. The comparison verifies the suitability of the GPS tec hnique for use in the measurement of IPWV in a variety of weather cond itions.
