The authors demonstrate the contact electrode method, in which a struc
tured electrode is pressed into contact with the crystals. Bulk period
ically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) with 6.58 mu m period, 0.3mm thick
ness, and an effective interaction length of 3mm is fabricated. A seco
nd-harmonic power of 62.5mW with 3.2W of CW fundamental is achieved us
ing an Nd:YAG laser.
