Abstract
Under the action of methyl isothiocyanate, the ambident isothiocyanato methanide anion, which was generated by deprotonation of methyl isothi ocyanate with lithium diisopropylamide, was readily and selectively tr ansformed to 5-methylaminothiazole-2-thiolate.
