Abstract
The imaginary part of the optical potential involving the rearrangemen t component is analyzed for the case of generalized effective Skyrme i nteraction. It is shown that two- and three-body Skyrme forces are not equivalent in calculating the imaginary part of the optical potential . The effect of the rearrangement potential on the radial distribution of the imaginary part of the optical potential is studied by consider ing the example of elastic neutron scattering by Ca-40 nuclei.
