Abstract
Rapamycin is a naturally occurring antibiotic, immunosuppresant and an ti-g raft-rejection agent wh ich was isolated from broth cultures of S treptomyces hydroscopicus (NRRL 5491) endemic to the Easter Island soi l samples in Japan in 1975, The review focuses on the degradative and synthetic studies of this novel and challenging structure.
