Abstract
Tobacco cells were transformed with the previously designed vector pLT 5, whose T region contained direct repeats of a portion of the GUS gen e positioned to allow their recombination to restore the structure of the gene. The resulting transgenic lines can be used as testers for re cording genotoxic effects of various pollutants.
