Vi. Shevchenko et Vi. Ivashchenko, EFFECT OF METALLIC VACANCIES ON THE ELECTRONIC-STRUCTURE OF NIOBIUM NITRIDE, Powder metallurgy and metal ceramics, 36(7-8), 1997, pp. 430-432
The effect of metallic vacancies on the density of stales in niobium n
itride is examined. Calculations were carried out using the recursion
and coherent-potential Methods for NbN and Nb0.75N. The recursion dens
ity of states in nonstoichiometric niobium nitride is obtained for par
allel and antiparallel arrangement of the metallic vacancies. It is fo
und that the formation of such vacancies lends to the formation of an
electronic spectrum of additional (in comparison with the complete com
pound) states in the high-energy part of the hybrid metal-nonmetal reg
ion. The changes in the density of stales of Nb0.75N in relation to th
e degree of ordering in the metallic sublattice are also examined.
