Abstract
It is very important both to use low price ore for the sinter plant an d to improve the sinter high temperature properties in view of high PC I rate. At the Kokura sinter plant, the granulation of the sinter mixt ure has been improved by introducing a high agitating mixer. The sinte ring operation using low price ore is now carried out successfully. Th e high temperature behaviour is improved by reducing the SiO2 content in the sinter, and a pulverized coal injection rate up to 180 kg/thm h as been achieved at the Kokura blast furnace.
