Introduction of minor amounts of metallic nickel to solvent-crazed pol
ymer (polypropylene) matrices allowed preparation of polymer composite
s with various electric properties up to conductors. As a result of th
e structuration of the filler associated with the morphology of initia
l matrix, the composites are characterized by a low value of volume co
ncentration of the filler (1-2 vol %), at which the percolation thresh
old for conductivity is attained. The position of percolation threshol
d for conductivity and dielectric permeability, may be varied by contr
olling the dimensions and compactness of the metallic layer formed in
polymer matrices.
