Gj. Moore, HINGE PEPTIDE LIBRARIES IN BASIC RESEARCH AND DRUG DEVELOPMENT - APPLICATION TO BREAST-CANCER AND MULTIPLE-SCLEROSIS, Drug development research, 42(3-4), 1997, pp. 157-163
Libraries of peptides in which a centrally located linker group is int
roduced to deliberately disrupt the ordered backbone structure and all
ow the flanking amino acid sidechains to cluster together are called '
'hinge'' or ''hairpin'' peptide libraries. Screening of these librarie
s with bioassays directed towards breast cancer and multiple sclerosis
has yielded promising new leeds in the search for novel therapeutic e
ntities to treat these diseases. (C) 1997 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
