Abstract
The present study demonstrates that the nitric oxide synthase inhibito r, aminoguanidine, can attenuate the proteinuria observed in a predomi nantly noninflammatory model of chronic renal disease in the rat. Thes e data suggest that nitric oxide synthase may be involved in progressi ve renal disease.
