Abstract
The determination of process parameters, like droplet diameter and vel ocity or mass transfer rates, is fundamental for the modeling and desi gning of the liquid-liquid extraction process. In this context, phase- Doppler anemometry (PDA) and rainbow refractometry (RBR) offer improve d and unexpected possibilities of droplet characterization in liquid-l iquid systems.
