VISUALIZATION AND DETERMINATION OF LOCAL HEAT AND MASS-TRANSFER AT SOLID WALLS IN LIQUID FLOW

Heat and mass transfer processes are critical in process engineering. This paper presents a new method for measuring conductive mass transfe r at a wall in liquid flow The mass transfer distribution is visualize d as a color intensity distribution using Acidol-Blau in combination w ith polyamide-coated chromatographic foils and membranes: thus, even c omplex flow phenomena at or near a mall can be visualized and quantifi ed.
