Abstract
The angular distributions of Is photoelectrons from fixed-in-space mol ecules have been measured around the sigma shape resonances of N, CO2 , and CO molecules, for the case of light polarization parallel to the molecular axis, when only sigma continuum channels contribute. On the basis of the quantitative analyses of the results, the natures of the sigma shape resonances in these molecules are discussed. (C) 1998 El sevier Science B.V.
