The entrance channel dynamics of the Ca-40 + Ca-40 reaction at 35A MeV
is modeled with the recently developed QMD codes, EQMD and AMD-V. Dra
stic differences are observed in the entrance channel dynamics calcula
ted by the two models. AMD-V with a Gogny farce reproduces the experim
ental results over all. The importance of the introduction of the diff
usion process to the centroid motion of wave packets is suggested. (C)
