Abstract
Our aim in this article is to prove that tbe lower bound obtained in [ 7] for the dimension of the attractor associated with the Benard probl em with free surfaces in an elongated rectangle is optimal, in a sense explained below, with respect to the shape factor or the domain. We o btain a similar result in space dimension three for regular functional invariant sets.
