Abstract
A convergent total synthesis of the substituted bis-oxazole (-)-muscor ide A (1), isolated from a cyanobacterium, is described based on coupl ing of the N-functionalised ''reverse prenyl'' dipeptide acid 8a to th e threonine-based oxazole 9a, followed by elaboration of the tetrapept ide 7, via the oxazoline-oxazole 16 and the bis-oxazole ester 6.
