Abstract
THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD offers a way for a neurosurgeon to assess object ively his or her professional activities, especially in regard to the results of treatment. For this reason, all neurosurgical trainees shou ld be instructed in at least the basic tenets of the scientific method , and all neurosurgeons should be guided by these tenets in their dail y practice.
