Abstract
The phase transition at 95 K in Cs3Bi2Br9 have been investigated in de tail by the Raman spectroscopy. A systematic study on temperature depe ndencies of the frequencies and bandwidths in the wavenumber range 0-2 50 cm(-1) confirmed continuous nature of the phase transition. A soft mode is suggested to exist in the low temperature phase. The mechanism of the phase transition has a displacive nature. (C) 1998 Elsevier Sc ience B.V.
