Abstract
Resonance Raman spectra have been recorded for a supermolecular specie s containing four bis(bipyridine)chlororuthenium(II) groups attached t o the pendant pyridine residues of, the 2,6-diacetyl-4-methylpyridylim inepyridine)iron(II) center. Selective enhancement of the bipyridine a nd diacetyliminepyridine vibrational peaks has been observed at 488 an d 568 nm, respectively, allowing the assignment of the corresponding e lectronic bands to charge-transfer transitions in the ruthenium(II)-bi pyridine and iron(II)-polyimine chromophores.
