E. Silva et al., ANISOTROPY AND DIMENSIONALITY OF BI2SR2CACU2O8+X FROM TRANSPORT MEASUREMENTS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 55(17), 1997, pp. 11115-11117
We analyze measurements of the anisotropy in several Bi(2)Sr2CaCu(2)OB
(8+x) films of different magnetotransport properties: critical-current
density, microwave dissipation, and resistively determined irreversib
ility line. It is shown that all those measurements present the same a
ngular scaling property, irrespective of the different measured quanti
ties. The anisotropy depends on the temperature, accordingly to the qu
asi-two-dimensional (2D), decoupled-layer picture. In the same picture
, a single parameter epsilon(T) (anisotropy ratio) is sufficient to de
scribe the evolution of the angular scaling functions. All the data fo
r all the samples follow the same identical curve of epsilon versus th
e reduced temperature. Departures from the quasi-2D model are observed
very close to T-c.
