Abstract
Lipase from fresh goat liver has been shown to catalyze enantioselecti ve transesterification of secondary alcohols in hexane using vinyl ace tate as acyl source. In most of the cases transesterification takes pl ace with alcohols of R-configuration, whereas in the case of cholester ol only the natural isomer (3S) is acylated with >99% ee.
