Abstract
Dehydroabietic acid 2 and ''dihydroabietic lactone'' 3 together with a n oily mixture of three saturated lactones 4 epimeric with 3 were obta ined when Tall Oil diene resin acids (e.g, abietic acid) were dispropo rtionated with trifluoroacetic acid.
