The earthquake-resistance ability for large size computer was analyzed
by FEM (Finite Element Method) using three-dimensional elastic models
. For 19-inch rack computer frame structures, whether they include con
tents (equipment and units) or not, the natural frequency, the dynamic
frequency response and the dynamic time earthquake response for the s
ame vibration as the earthquake in southern Hyogo prefecture, were cal
culated. The analysis results were in agreement with the experimental
results, and the vibration properties of the structures were clarified
. Accordingly, it was possible to develop a high earthquake-resistance
ability computer structure at low cost.
