Vm. Korzun et al., APPLICATION OF PHENETICAL ANALYSIS TO STU DY SPATIAL-ORGANIZATION OF FLEAS-PLAGUE VECTORS, Zoologiceskij zurnal, 77(2), 1998, pp. 209-215
Spatial structure of flears-plague vectors is considered using the pho
netical analysis. Differences in phenetical indices among four natural
populations of Citellophilus tesquorum under study are well consisten
t with the known subspecies differentiation. The greatest differences
are found in the cases when populations refer to different subspecies
and are located far from each other. The least differences are reveale
d in geographically close populations of the same subspecies. Analyzin
g morphological variability of different characters in Amphalus runatu
s inhabiting the Altai natural nidus of plague permits to reveal two i
ndependent spatial groups in the territory under investigation.
