We present the results of the analysis of muon spectroscopy measuremen
ts of the aqueous solution LiCl-6H(2)O. In this good glass former two
species can be observed after muon implantation: MuOH (diamagnetic spe
cies) and muonium (Mu) (paramagnetic species). The characterization of
the species and the evolution of their fractions with field and tempe
rature have been determined. The first results show that the diamagnet
ic amplitude is larger in longitudinal field than in transverse field
setup. It is found also that the total fraction (Mu plus MuOH) versus
field for various temperatures shows a crossover at 400 G. Some hypoth
eses explaining this behaviour are made, For the MuOH species, correla
tion times have been determined and related to those obtained by a pre
vious NMR experiment. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
