Abstract
A method of determination of the particle pinch coefficient using spat ially stationary points of the transport equation is described. Here n o numerical derivatives of the data need to be computed which makes it possible to determine the local value of the pinch coefficient with h igh accuracy. The method is illustrated by analysing one specific data set.
