PROVIDING STRUCTURE AND CLINICAL DEVELOPM ENT OF ANXIETY DISORDERS - EMPIRICAL-STUDY IN AN UNIVERSAL ANXIETY PATIENTS HOUR

This article enlightens the factors of development and the structures of health care concerning anxiety disorders -with a life-time prevalen ce of 14% -by examining a clientele of a university consultation hour for patients suffering from anxiety disorders. The case history and th e relevance of illness concepts, especially in relation to the disease process, are taken into consideration. The diagnosis and the pharmaco -and psychotherapies prescribed by the primary ca re physicians are gi ven in this article. Aiming at a quality control the former are compar ed to the diagnosis and therapies ruled by the physicians of the consu lting hour for anxiety disorders. As a result of this comparison, one has to recognise a great need of educational work to shorten the >>ody ssee<< of the patients, also when seen from the point of view of savin g money.
