V. Radulescu et al., HPLC ANALYSIS OF SOME SYNTHETIC PROSTAGLANDIN COMPOUNDS OF THERAPEUTIC INTEREST, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 42(12), 1997, pp. 1129-1135
The separation of some synthetic structural analogs of natural prostag
landins PGF(2a), PGE(2) and PGA(2) was performed. A Beekman HPLC syste
m equipped with reverse phase columns (Ultrasphere ODS 5 mu m) and wit
h diode array detection was used with different mobile phases (methano
l:water, methanol:0.75% acetic acid aqueous solution and methanol:0.02
M phosphate buffer). The optimal experimental conditions in relation
with the chemical structure of each prostaglandin compound were establ
ished. The quantitative determination of active compounds in the prese
nce of different stereoisomers was also studied. The results of these
studies were extended to quantitative determination of active prostagl
andin compounds in pharmaceutical preparations (injectable solutions a
nd collyria).
