Abstract
On the basis of a simple and general mathematical model, it is shown t hat available experimental data on photoinduced anisotropy (PA) in cha lcogenide glasses, and especially the independence of its saturation v alue from the intensity of the inducing light, unambiguously prove tha t the collection of dipoles responsible for the PA is temperature depe ndent.
