Nm. Berezhnaya et al., EXPRESSION OF ACTIVATION AND PROLIFERATIO N MARKERS IN MH-RHABDOMYOSARCOMA AND MELANOMA B-16 CELLS INDUCED BY SOME IMMUNOMODULATORS, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 20(1), 1998, pp. 39-44
The effect of different immunomodulators (thymalin, laferon, interleuk
in-2 (IL-2), decaris) on the expression of activation (IL-2 receptor a
nd transferrin receptor) and proliferation (IPO-38 antibody-recognized
nuclear protein) markers in tumor cells (Mh-rhabdomyosarcoma of mice
BALB/c and melanoma B-16 of mice C57BI/6) was studied. Method of indir
ect fluorescent microscopy and monoclonal antibodies against these mar
kers was used. Data showed that indicated immunomodulators influence i
n a different way the expression of the activation and proliferation m
arkers in tumor cells of different origin. The expression of activatio
n and proliferation markers in tumor cells is a process that depends o
n the mechanisms of action of immunomodulators and properties of tumor
cells. Possible ways and conditions of realization of the effects of
indicated immunomodulators on different tumor cells are discussed.
