The activation of fluoroarenes in their tricarbonylchromium complexes
is used for the substitution of the fluoride with dialkyl phosphites u
nder mild conditions. The resulting (eta 6-dialkyiphosphonoarene)trica
rbonylchromium complexes 3a-f were characterized by IR, H-1, C-13, P-3
1 nmr and mass spectrometry. Using 3f the decomplexation to the dialky
l arylphosphonate 4 is demonstrated.
