R. Gani et al., A GENERALIZED REACTIVE SEPARATION UNIT MODEL - MODELING AND SIMULATION ASPECTS, Computers & chemical engineering, 22, 1998, pp. 363-370
The modelling and simulation of a generalized reactive separation unit
has been developed. The generalized reactive separation unit is able
to consider multiple configurations where the reaction and separation
may occur simultaneously or where only a single separation process (mu
ltiphase) or single reaction process (multireaction) may take place. T
herefore, through the generalized reactive separation unit model, it i
s possible to represent systems with or without chemical reaction,:sys
tems where homogeneous or heterogeneous chemical reactions occur (kine
tically and equilibrium controlled) and also multiphase (LLV) and mult
ireaction systems. The generalized reactive separation unit has been c
onstructed such that it can also be employed in the modelling and simu
lation of reactive distillation columns, reactive extraction columns a
nd;sequences of reactor-separator flowsheets. (C) 1998 Elsevier Scienc
