An educational software program was developed to demonstrate the inter
actions among weed population demographic processes, plant community i
nteractions, and grassland noxious weed management options. The softwa
re includes an example model parameterized to simulate yellow starthis
tle population dynamics and graphic output. The software allows studen
ts to change weed and competing grass population demographic parameter
s, herbicide, and biological control management options. The graphic o
utput allows the user to observe the outcome of integration of weed bi
ology and various weed management options.
