Abstract
In the title adduct, MgSO4.4CH(4)N(2)O.H2O {aqua(sulfato-O)tetrakis(ur ea-O)magnesium, [Mg(SO4)(CH4-N2O)(4)(H2O)]}, the Mg atoms have octahed ral coordination, formed by one water and four urea molecules, and one sulfate O atom. The neutral MgSO4(urea)4.H2O clusters are dimerized i nto centrosymmetric units through two O-H...O hydrogen bonds held toge ther in a network where urea molecules act as both hydrogen-bond donor s and accepters.
