In one of Moscow old and large forest parks, Izmailovo, there were reg
istered the mammals inhabiting there. Registration of small mammals wa
s carried out using traplines (1966-1995), that of larger animals-by t
racking (winter, 1994). Excessive recreation loads and other anthropog
enic factors (forest cuttings, waste water release to the river, etc.)
have a negative influence on the mammal fauna of the forest park. Nev
ertheless in the park there are representatives of several mammalian o
rders: Chiroptera, Insectivora, Lagomorpha, Rodentia, Carnivora. The n
umber of small mammals, Clethrinomys glareolus and Apodemus agrarius,
is rather high. Sciurus vulgaris exists due to additional feedings pro
vided by visitors. Lepus europaeus and L. timidus are well adapted to
life in the park and their number is high enough. Tn the park one may
be come across the following predatory mammals: Mustela erminea, M. ni
valis, M. vison, M. putorius and Vulpes vulpes.
