Diffraction patterns in the (h h l) plane of ErFe2O4-delta, measured a
s a function of temperature, show the two-dimensional spin (ferrimagne
tic)-charge ordering of Fe2+ and Fe3+ with weak correlations between t
he planes. A model recently proposed for this spin-charge ordering has
been examined by measurements of the intensity for three different cr
ystal directions in the c-plane, since the model leads to the existenc
e of three kinds of domain with quite different volumes. In contrast t
o this expectation, the results show no appreciable intensity differen
ces.
