We report the case of a 55-year-old female who despite having develope
d extensive chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), relapsed 35 mont
hs after a T cell-replete sibling donor bone marrow transplant for Phi
ladelphia-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia (Ph CML), She achieved co
mplete cytogenetic remission after discontinuation of cyclosporin A an
d administration of two low-dose donor leucocyte infusions (DLI 1x10(6
) and 5x10(6) CD3(+) cells/kg). Eighteen months after the first infusi
on she remains well and in complete cytogenetic remission with a normo
cellular marrow and no exacerbation of GVHD.
