Abstract
The relationship between the faecal egg count and the warm burden of t he gastrointestinal tract of sheep was examined. Close relationships w ere found in strongyles, Trichostrongylidae (other than Nematadirus sp p.), Nematodirus spp., Strongyloides papillosus, Chabertiidae and Tric huris spp.. Due to high percentage of false negative diagnosis from fa ecal examination, this relationship was in Nematodirus spp. and Trichu ris spp. not as close as in the other nematodes. However, the results support the high diagnostic value of quantitative faecal examinations in-sheep.
