Abstract
The partial Schiff base condensation reactions between 2,6-diacetylpyr idine and 1,3-phenylenediamine in the presence of scandium(III), yttri um(III) and lanthanum(III) ions as template agents afford new mono-and dinuclear hexadentate complexes of pedate type, depending on the mola r ratio of starting materials used in the synthesis. They were charact erized by IR, UV-VIS, H-1 NMR, and mass spectral data as well as by th ermogravimetric and elemental analyses.
