Abstract
Candidate gene studies of single polymorphisms in affective disorders and psychosis have produced many intriguing results, but will they eve r be definitive? We predict that in the future there will be a converg ence of linkage and association analysis to genome-wide linkage disequ ilibrium studies using overlapping haplotypes.
