Np. Nikitin et Al. Alyavi, THE ROLE OF PREVENTION DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCT ION IN THE PROCESS OF LEFT-VENTRICULAR REMODELING IN CHRONIC HEART-FAILURE, Kardiologia, 38(3), 1998, pp. 56-61
Functional status, tolerance to physical exercise and quality of life
were evaluated in 57 patients with chronic heart failure and echocardi
ographical signs of systolic and diastolic dysfunction of the heart, A
ccording to all parameters used in the study patients with ''restricti
ve'' type of diastolic dysfunction had more severe course of heart fai
lure. In this group functional class, 6 minutes walking distance and t
otal index of quality of life correlated more closely with parameters
of left ventricular diastolic filling compared to parameters of its sy
stolic function. Thus with development of ''restrictive'' type of dias
tolic filling left ventricular remodeling reaches the stage when sever
ity of the patients clinical condition is determined mostly by the sta
te of diastolic function of the heart.
