Treatment of indium(III) chloride with ammonium dialkyldithiophosphate
in a 1: 3 molar ratio in benzene afforded [In{S2P(OR)(2)}(3)](R = Et,
Pr-n, Pr-i). The chloro complexes [InCl3-n{S2P(OR)(2)}n] (n = 1, 2) c
an be readily obtained by the reaction of indium trichloride with indi
um tris(dialkyldithiophosphate) in benzene at room temperature. All th
ese complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR (H-1,
C-13 and P-31) [solution and solid state] and mass spectral data. In a
ddition, the crystal structure of the complex [In{S2P(OPri)(2)}(3)] ha
s been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
